You might’ve even watched that “Build Your Website in 30 Minutes” video (twice).

And you’re thinking, “Why pay someone when I can do this myself?”

We get it. DIY websites are tempting.

They seem budget-friendly, creative, and kind of fun… until they start quietly sabotaging your brand from behind the screen.

Here’s the surprising part: You don’t need to make an obvious mistake to hurt your online presence. 

Sometimes, even the smallest things done with the best intentions can lead to big problems. 

But don’t worry, we’re not here to judge. We’re here to share the kind of stuff that can go wrong, with a smile and a story or two along the way.

1. The Never-Ending “Coming Soon” Page

You told yourself you’d finish it by the weekend. That weekend was three months ago.

It’s easy to get stuck in planning mode, tweaking layouts, and overthinking colors. 

But leaving your site with a “coming soon” message for too long can make your brand look inactive or, worse, nonexistent.
